100thousand Pencils Project visits a Dumagat community

The 100thousand pencils project team was greeted with warm smiles and hearty hospitality during its visit to the Agta Dumagat community of Sitio Kinabuan, Sta. Ines, Tanay, Rizal. The team led the distribution of school supplies and other teaching materials to 85 Dumagat children. It was an afternoon full of fun-filled learning activities.

Part of the experience is the two-hour trek to Sitio Kinabuan, where the team got to see and feel up close Sierra Madre's mountainous forest. Crossing nine mountain streams and rivers is definitely one of the most memorable part of this incredible experience.

The third and also the last leg of this year's outreach activities, the team's visit to the Dumagat community may be considered one of the most relevant.  During the short stay, the team heard and talked about the sentiments of and issues confronting the indigenous community.

Again, our sincerest thanks to all the support that we have received this year. See you on our next outreach activity! (Photos grabbed from Aiza)
